The Post-Lube Kits hold the oil pressure on the engines between 4 and 6 minutes after shutdown, which is more than enough time for the turbochargers to spin down.
The kits are made with top quality components and I would recommend them to anyone especially in a marine environment.

I bought the AutoEngineLube pre-luber for my 1986 Chrysler and when I was installing it my neighbor came over to have a look. He was under the impression that all you needed was the Miracle Oil Additive he was using. Then a couple days later he started up his motor home to go back to Arizona. As soon as the engine started there was a loud clattering and then a louder banging noise then silence when the engine froze up. Some hydraulic valve lifters were stuck due to lack of oil pressure to adjust them and the engine was ruined in the first revolution of the crankshaft. Normally hydraulic valve lifters stay somewhat adjusted for a while but if the engine sets a long time this is the most likely outcome. His mechanic said if the engine pre-lube kit was on his motor home this never would of happened. BILL FARLEY: Imperial Beach Ca. My conclusion? It's superb. The kit included everything that I needed. It works fine and there was noticeable reduction of metallic noise after starting. One problem sailboats have with their engines is the lack of lubrication while motor sailing. A lot of engine manuals say you shouldn't motor sail if you will be encountering more than a 20-degree heeling angle. I believe the AutoEngineLube kit will compensate for the limit due to the constant supply of oil from the accumulator tank when the oil galley pressure drops. I just installed the AutoEngineLube kit on my 1990 Nissan 300ZX Z32, it works great and I am very happy with it! My car had a very loud hydraulic lifters noise on cold startups and the now there is no clatter at all when the engine is started. The Nissan 300ZX engine bay is very cramped but the 3X9 inch tank is small enough to fit a space on the passenger side at the rear of the engine compartment. Your engine pre lube system is working perfectly on my 1965 6v92TA Detroit Motor Coach. At first I was skeptical whether the 4 X 17 inch 3 quart storage tank had the capacity to completely fill and pressurize the oil system on our motor home. But within 10 seconds after turning the key on I have over 35 psi showing on the oil gauge. And the installation couldn't have been simpler. The AutoEngineLube Kit is finally installed, it was a tight fit but as you can see from the pictures, we found a good spot for it.I can see that the system works well because the dash oil pressure gauge goes up to 45-50 PSI within 5 To 10 seconds after the key is turned on. The TVR Tuscan Speed 6 engine is a bit of a disaster and hundreds have failed due to poor lubrication at startup and it’s nice knowing that won't be a problem anymore.
All in all your pre lube kit is a superb idea and so easy to install, well worth the small investment in my opinion.
It is a wonderful thing not to hear any engine noise on start up after setting for days or weeks. The solenoid and gauge are on the right fender well just above the right front upper control arm and the accumulator is mounted to the right front frame horn in front of the tire behind front bumper. As you can tell there is a lot going on at the block feed point but it still feeds the system quickly and brings up oil pressure in just a few seconds after turning on the ignition to energize the solenoid. The Big Block Buick engines run fairly low oil pressure, especially at idle and with the filter mounted side ways they have drain back over time so my system is set to time out after one minute so that it captures the higher pressure while the engine and oil is cold and save it for the next startup. GREAT PRODUCT - The kit was so complete that even in my weird installation I did not have to buy any extra fittings or lines.
